  • 9 years experience in insurance litigation legal practice.
  • Acted as solicitor in both un-litigated and litigated matters in public liability and commercial claims providing advice to insurer clients on complex policy, claims administration and legal matters. Involved with insurer clients in complicated and significant multi-insurer claims and litigation.
  • Experienced in practice in various jurisdictions including Workers Compensation Court of New South Wales, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Administrative Decisions/ Dust Diseases Tribunals of New South Wales, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, Local/District/Supreme Courts/ Ct of Appeal of NSW, the High Court of Australia and Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales.
  • Responsible for managing investigation and defence of all litigated and non-litigated public liability claims made against a large government agency, including risk management, post incident advice, management of external legal service providers and advice to self-insured. Specialised in catastrophic injuries claims the majority involving minors.
  • Significant experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation, negotiation and conciliation.
  • Awareness and knowledge of legal and non-legal issues that may affect claims, including commercial, strategic, and forensic considerations, as well as common law and ongoing merit assessments of matters.
  • Experienced in assessment of both liability and quantum issues relating to assessment of damages and reserving claim and costs estimates.
